Mumm 30 World Championship - GBR's 'Asterix' opens the lead after first three races |
LA TRINITÉ SUR MER, FRANCE-(2-6-2005) Three legs run today for the opening day of the World Mumm championship off la Trinité sur Mer in France’s southern Brittany. British Louis Browne takes the lead showing some remarkable consistency up front ; twice in second place and a third place during the last leg launched as the wind finally began to rise. No more than 10 knots of breeze today in shiny Golfe du Morbihan.
5 boats are tonight still very much in the game for the final victory including Pierre Loic Berthet and Italy’s Michele Perris, both winners today.
America’s Jim Richardson and Australia’s Richard Perini must throw a perfect ball to keep their ambitions up until Saturday night. Weather expected to remain quite mild tomorrow, with breeze picking up in the afternoon.
